Web 2.0 applications and technologies are to be found in many
enterprises worldwide. Yet, the road to real Enterprise 2.0 endorsement
is long and bumpy, as some of underlying principles of Enterprise 2.0
seem to contradict with current organizations’ values and deep rooted
norms. For example, most activities in large organizations are dictated
in a top-down, tree-like manner, while Web 2.0 mandates emergent, flat,
network-based nature of activity initiation and conduct. In this
session, we will cover how businesses leverage web 2.0 technologies in
order to gain the upper hand when it comes to managing the biggest
asset of the business, its enterprise knowledge. The session will
cover the theory and practice of this cutting edge trend.
